50 Years of Quality. A Lifetime of
Trust. Kwang Myung Ink Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
(KMI) celebrated its 50th anniversary on September 1, 2026, marking five
decades of growth, innovation and commitment to the printing ink industry.
Founded on September 1, 1976, KMI has grown
from a Korean printing ink manufacturer into a global supplier serving
customers in 65 countries, with approximately 70% of its sales
generated from overseas markets.
The 50th Anniversary Ceremony, held at the Lotte
Hotel Busan, brought together employees and their families to reflect on
KMI's 50-year journey and share its vision for the future. Congratulatory video
messages from customers and business partners around the world were also
presented, highlighting the long-standing relationships and trust KMI has built
across global markets.
Vision 2036: 80 · 80 · 40 · 15 During the ceremony, KMI announced Vision
2036, a ten-year roadmap designed to strengthen the company's global
presence and accelerate its transformation toward higher-value specialty ink
technologies.
By 2036, KMI aims to achieve four key
objectives:
These goals represent more than growth in
scale. They reflect KMI's strategic transformation: From a Premium Brand in Commodity Inks to a High-Tech Premium Brand in Specialty Inks. Through continued investment in technology
and innovation, KMI will focus on products and markets where its expertise in
quality, performance and technical support can create greater value for
customers.
Toward KMI 2076 Looking beyond Vision 2036, KMI has set its
sights on its 100th anniversary in 2076. KMI's long-term ambition is not simply to
become the world's largest ink manufacturer, but to become: “The World's Most Trusted Ink Company.” KMI describes this long-term philosophy as “Last
Man Standing” — not simply being the last company remaining, but continuing
to develop technology, manufacture high-quality inks and provide reliable
supply to customers through every transformation of the printing industry.
As KMI begins its next 50 years, the
company will continue to build on the values that have defined its first
half-century: Quality, Innovation and Trust. 50 Years of Quality. A Lifetime of
Trust. |
